MSP 2020 Improvements Environmental Analysis Shared with Communities

News Category:

The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) hosted a public open house on January 31, 2012, to share information about the analyses of environmental impacts associated with proposed development at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP).

The MSP 2020 Improvements Environmental Assessment (EA)/Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) analyzes the environmental consequences associated with development needs to improve the level of service associated with the 2020 and 2025 forecasted operational levels at MSP. Scenarios that were analyzed in the EA/EAW include a Base Case (today’s environment), forecasted No Action, and two alternatives.

Approximately 15 people attended the open house held from 5-8 p.m. at the MAC General Offices Building in Minneapolis. Attendees included several community members from Minneapolis, Mendota Heights, and Sunfish Lake.

The next steps in the environmental review process include finalizing the draft document for official public review and comment. It is anticipated that the draft EA/EAW will be publicly available in late March 2012.
