Each year, the MSP Noise Oversight Committee (NOC) establishes a Work Plan. The 2012 Work Plan was approved during the Metropolitan Airports Commission meeting on December 19, 2011. The plan includes more action toward MSP Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) procedures, exploring use of WhisperTrack web-based technology, review of the MSP 2020 Improvements Environmental Assessment Noise Analysis, and continuing review of public input, fleet mix trends, nighttime runway use and residential noise mitigation program status.
The MAC established the MSP Noise Oversight Committee (NOC) in August 2002 to bring industry and community representatives together to address aircraft noise issues at MSP and to bring policy recommendations to the Metropolitan Airports Commission. The NOC is co-chaired by one of its appointed Industry Representatives and one of its appointed Community Representatives.
The Co-chairs are elected each year by the NOC membership. During the November 16, 2011 NOC meeting Mr. Jeff Hart, Delta Air Lines, was elected as the Industry Representative Co-Chair.
