MAC Endorses the MSP NOC Resolution Regarding Area NavigationPosted on March 17, 2014
The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) unanimously approved the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) Noise Oversight Committee resolution to support the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) actions related to Area Navigation at MSP. The endorsement occurred as part of the regular meeting of the board that was held on March 17, 2014.
NOC Resolution #01-2014 was formalized during a special NOC meeting held on March 6, 2014. At that time NOC members recommended approval of the FAA's Area Navigation (RNAV) Standard Terminal Arrival Route (STAR) implementation, which will provide Optimized Profile Descent (OPD) procedures at MSP and discontinue FAA efforts for partial-implementation of RNAV departure procedures. The resolution specifies that further consideration of RNAV departure procedures must be structured in a way that incorporates community outreach efforts, as was communicated to the FAA by the MAC's Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer Jeff Hamiel in February 2013.

The next MSP NOC meeting is being held on March 19, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the MAC General Office Building (6040 28th Avenue South, Minneapolis).
